Anxiety Counseling Can Help You Manage Stress In Healthier Ways

As an experienced anxiety therapist, my goal is to help you start feeling better as quickly as possible. I’ll teach you how to deal with anxiety in the moment, whether you encounter it at work, at home, or somewhere else. First, we’ll examine your current coping strategies, exploring what triggers your anxiety, why certain things tend to upset you, and how you typically react.

This process can help you identify coping mechanisms you picked up in the past that may no longer be serving you. For example, if drinking or overeating are starting to cause problems for you, I can introduce you to more effective ways of coping, such as journaling, breathing exercises, or grounding techniques. I’ll also teach you a visualization technique that can trick your body into a more relaxed state when you’re feeling panicked.

During our work together, you’ll learn to question pessimistic thoughts about yourself or your situation that only add to your stress. For example, the false belief that you’re “never good enough” may be making it harder for you to assert yourself, keeping you stuck in a bad situation. By learning how to say “no” to anxiety-inducing people and circumstances, you can reduce the amount of stress in your life.

Practically speaking, you may not be in a position to make big life changes right now, but I can help you find ways to endure or salvage your current situation. The encouragement and support I’ll provide can encourage you to take small steps toward goals that may feel impossible right now. Even if you’re not ultimately successful in getting what you want, the lessons you’ll learn from the attempt will allow you to make future decisions with greater clarity and confidence.

Anxiety therapy can also reduce the psychological impact of other people’s expectations and opinions. If being a people-pleaser is something you struggle with, you may have lost sight of your own values and priorities, but therapy can help you rediscover them. It can also empower you to stay true to yourself by teaching you how to create and maintain boundaries with your parents, with your partner, or in your other relationships.

I can help you find the courage to live life on your own terms and provide tools to help you effectively cope with anxiety, panic, and stress when they inevitably arise. Facing your anxiety, fears, and doubts will be hard work, but as your symptoms begin to fade, the relief you feel will be well worth it. You may also find it easier to recognize and pursue opportunities for improvement and change that were previously obscured.

As You Consider Anxiety Counseling, You May Have Some Questions. . .

Therapy sounds hard. Is it really worth it?

I know this work isn’t easy, but many people have told me that therapy was actually easier than they expected. Because I offer anxiety therapy online and aim for fast results, your investment will be minimal. Rather than focusing on the inconvenience or cost of anxiety therapy, I invite you to consider the psychological, financial, and physical cost of continuing along this path. If you’re unhappy about where your life is headed, working with an anxiety therapist will ultimately be worth the effort.

My situation is complicated. What makes you think you can help me?

If you are ready to commit to this work, I’m confident that I can help you alleviate and better manage your anxiety—regardless of your unique circumstances. I’ve been helping people overcome anxiety, relationship problems, and other issues for ten years. My experience—which includes work with active-duty military—has taught me how to alleviate anxiety in a wide variety of contexts, including cases of depression, PTSD, personality disorders, substance abuse, and other co-occurring issues.

I’m worried that confronting my anxiety might make it worse. What if this doesn’t work?

Many people start anxiety therapy feeling extremely discouraged and hopeless. Even if you feel like you’re out of options, the fresh perspective an anxiety therapist provides can make all the difference. I will never judge you, minimize your struggles, or push you out of your comfort zone, so there really isn’t anything to be afraid of.

You Deserve To Feel Calmer And More Confident

If nothing you’ve tried so far has helped to alleviate your anxiety and panic, isn’t it time to try something new? Anxiety counseling can help you make the most of your current situation, no matter how challenging it may be.
